Fermanagh Gold Introduction
by Jim Swindell

The Robert Little listed as a Publican in Lisnaskea on page 78 in Henry Lowe's " Fermanagh Directory and Household Almanac for 1880" and also has an advertisement which appears on page 166 in the same publication, is my great grand-uncle and is the same Robert Little who in 1898 was the Tenant of Cushwash Farm and Mill described in the Fermanagh Presents Web Site.

I have a photograph, taken by my father in 1968, of a Memorial to the Little Family which was erected by Robert Little in the Tempo C of I. The following information appears on the Memorial.

"Erected by Robert Little in memory of his father Samuel Little, of Carnaguiltaugh, who died 2nd May 1847, aged 67 years. Also his mother Margery Little who died 24th April 1867, aged 82 years. Also his brother Samuel Little who died at Enniskillen, 9th June 1867, aged 37 years. Also his brother James Little who died 8th January 1875, aged 58 years. Also his sister Jane, who died 12th May 1885, aged 61 years."

My great grandmother, Mary Anne Swindle, was also Robert Little's sister. Mary Anne Swindle, nee Little, also died at Carrownagiltagh (different spelling), 26th June 1907, aged 80 years.
