A group of Irish families from Aghalurcher Parish left
Ireland in the 1840's to 1860's. They first moved
to Pittsburgh, PA and then to the Silver Creek Community
of Delaware Co., IA. Most were related to each
other and if not, likely neighbors back in the old
country. I am researching the whole community; not
just my direct line.
Surnames are Robinsons of Altagoaghan, Carrothers of
Cornarooslan, Lendrum, Baxter, Reid, Montgomery,
Coulter, Hogg, Johnston, Lowery, Rainbird, Burnside,
Sherry, Elliott, Adams, West, Anderson, and McMullen.
And of Galloon Parish were the surnames Swindle of
Kilturk West, Tarleton, and Gregg.
If you are working on the same names I would be happy
to hear from you.
